Bronzino: a boy gets to second base with his mom

An Allegory with Venus and Cupid

On one side is Pleasure and Play; and on the other, Fraud and Jealousy. The old man with wings and an hourglass is Time. The howling figure on the left has been interpreted as Jealousy, Despair and the effects of syphilis. Be careful not to make out with your mother or you will get an STD, is possibly the message of this painting? Anyway, I love it.

I read your post and made haste to my mothers mouth to make out with it, so to test your STD theory. My lips are starting to itch. You may be be right MM.

Corny is it Herpes Simplex 1 that you have contracted from your loose mother? (No offense). Please be guided accordingly.

Zounds, Mountain Man your "Just say No" Simplex seems worse than an STD. Is it contagious?

Yes. It appears you have caught it. Don't worry, the cure is smiling in spite of sores.

There is an emergence that is planned for the frontal region. Liquid is not involved, it is a fleshy gush, a tornado of skin ruin. I will see you in the afterlife.

Cupid sure is proffering that backside; I'm not so sure he is interested in Mama....

Who do you think I am aiming for with my rotund bum so available?

The Centre.

The fun centre? Or the pain centre.

Is there a difference?

There is nothing to be concerned about, you are a monster amidst the abyss and that is final. You love it. Everyone does.

Trying to find like in new drawing. Difficulty ensues. Where did I go wrong??? It is putrid and awkward and stupid. Oh well. Better luck next time.

I missed the picture entirely. I thought maybe I put a curse on your blog by coming to visit.

I hope the answer is no.

Can you see it now?

The gaping maw of the abyss soon snatches us all. The longer I stare, the more it becomes me and I open to it all.

That sounds uncomfortable somehow.

I AM FIXING MY HANDS BY CUTTING THEM OFF. Please join me in the way of the stumps.

I couldn't see the picture yesterday buit can see it now, it's even sicker then I imagined. I never would stick my ass out in such a humiliating and spastic mannor when making out with Mother in front of the rest of the family, including pets.

I have been snatched by the abyss. I didn't have time to cut off my hands. I need Torso to come rescue me.

Corny I am glad you will take this painting's cautionary tale to heart and keep your spastic rear in your hot pants.

Bono has been dominating Torso's calander of late and is really getting sucked into this whole African Aides stuff, if you want Torso's attention I suggest you set yor head on fire and rollerskate around Times Square while singing U2 songs.

It worked for Bono.

I can see it now too MM.

How come the grandpa's up there in the corner not doing anything about this familial misbehavior?

Maybe he's just dreaming of younger days and his own mother.

*sigh*
