I love Kokoschka's landscapes. They are so nervous and jittery, just great. Hi FB. I am eagerly thinking of Saturday's festival. I am going to make a sign that says "Ned's" for the door. I am trying to locate Sarsaparilla (true spelling) and if I can't find, birch beer may have to do.

yes, me too. neds. i think rum would go nicely with the 'rilla or perhaps the makers mark again. the deadly fluid of the fb.

i am ready to be insane.

It's funny how dorky the breugel is - even though i love it - it spawned a whole truckload of mall art, midwestern taste art. know what i am saying?

Funny you should say that FB, I was thinking of trying to find a good mall art painting to put in this line-up. I was telling one of my students about mall art yesterday. I said cheesy is ok, don't tell your other teachers I am telling you to look at mall art. It seemed wrong but I don't know, I am sucked in by the rainbow sunsets, the Bob Ross encrustations. Not always but sometimes.

i love these, mm. especially the last one.
i just got a call from someone who claims to have written a book about "the real art world." i told her she must send a letter!

i was mesmerized by boss ross just recently. the fan brushes. i couldn't turn away - wondering about the heaps of bob ross paintings there must be out in a shed i imagine. just heaps fo them. someone should organize a show of work like this.

pd, that was me who called.

Mountain Man said...

FB are you going to expose us in a tell-all?

FB, you must use nom de plume--how about Paige Turner?

Mountain Man said...

Paige Turner is very good, Miss Quickie-PD

Anonymous said...

somone actually submitted something with that fake name.

Anonymous said...

sorry for my typos.

Mountain Man said...

I can't think of anything good. PD, will you give me a nom de plume too?

Is Frogs a pen name with purpose?

Anonymous said...

I have started stamping out messages with my tongue, using earth on linoleum. Only the heros in the sky will see it and meanwhile there are contracts to draw up that ensconce my will to the will of others.

Anonymous said...

Frogs, you have the best pen name of all. What is your real name?

Anonymous said...

I can't tell you my real name, you may unearth a trove of anger within yourself, sublime anger. My apologies.

MM, thanks for the compliment on my blog. I travel in different circles and its always a struggle to maintain my alibis and keep one group of people/interests from knowing about the others. I have a "bad" side to me along with the "correct" one.

I like the third painting. I've been looking at the paintings on the painters flickr pool and am getting tired of the busy-ness of what looks to me as niave art, not sure.

I will send your stuff to the group and I'll let you know how many people look at it and if they say anything. My art set.

Do you notice a trend in style with the NY painters featured in my set or am I imagining one?

I am a fan of the dorky Breugel. Can't help it.

Did I ever tell you guys my mom made fan brush paintings? I forgot about them until FB mentioned the f.b. (fan brush.)

Fan brush paintings and macrame owls. How else could a childhood be more complete. . .oh wait, burlwood tables. http://www.burlwoodgalleries.com/html/tables.html

MM, could tell me about #3 please? It is the one that most intrigues today.

Breugel
Cornelius Vroom
Turner
Kokoschka
Peter Doig

I am also a mega fan of Turner. The darker and more sweeping and turbulent the better.

The Capt'n said...

Copy that.
Am enjoying the weaving/netting/rhythmic peaceful tumult-y chain of events that you have strung along here.

Thanks Capt'n.

So.

Are you in NY yet?

You copy?

The Capt'n said...

Sir, I do copy, but I regret to inform you that I am not yet there.
Was/am doing gymnastics in my mind's eye/I as well as on paper so as to line up planetary bowling pins for least self-destructive knockdown. Running numbers, cross-referencing data schematics, testing winds with licked finger out of window.
May or may not succeed in earning an early arrival. My speed of trajectory is as yet undetermined.
Over and out.

krix, arthur will not let me buy the macrame owls on ebay. they are righteous and good and a totemic force of goodwill for any home, right? convince him.

Anonymous said...

fb, he just doesn't get the power. Is he coming to Ned's? I am skilled at the art of persuasion and mind control.

sloth said...

FB, what does Arthur have against the macrame owls? Was he attacked by one as a child? Did his mother dress him in brown macrame outfits? He needs to find out what the underlying problem is, then medicate it away.

Hi MM, thank you for the blart. my eyes are 2 open and drinking mouths. I am nourished. thank you.
